The Regional Programming Initiative cultivates interdisciplinary approaches to the Holocaust relevant to the unique geographical regions of North America from the 1920s through the 1950s. Both Holocaust studies and related fields are enriched through active engagement with each other, focusing on the range of experiences of racial persecution in the United States and Europe during this period. These programs aim to build connections between Holocaust scholars from the Museum’s network and local scholars and university educators specializing in the program’s themes. This collaborative approach involves college communities in rigorous, nuanced conversations around these important historical questions in ways that promote informed dialogue about the lessons and relevance of those histories.
