2026 Western Region Tribute Dinner

Honoring Holocaust Survivor Yetta Kane

In these troubling times, amid the continuing surge in antisemitism—tragically including deadly violence—our community stands together to advance the Museum’s critical mission. Join us to honor survivors and learn how we are combating dangerous conspiracy theories and Holocaust denial, inspiring new generations to confront antisemitism today. At this year's dinner, we will present survivor Yetta Kane with the National Leadership Award for her long-held commitment to the Jewish community and Holocaust remembrance. The program will also feature a conversation between two survivors of fatal antisemitism, generations apart. A Holocaust survivor and a survivor of the October 7 Nova Music Festival massacre will talk about what drives them to share their experiences. Their determination and resilience motivate all of us to work even harder to help create a better future, free of antisemitism and all kinds of hatred.

Event Chairs

  • Dr. Bryna Kane and Mr. Jerry Kaufman

Dr. Bryna Kane and Mr. Jerry Kaufman are longtime Museum supporters. Dr. Kane recently retired as the senior founding partner of the Laser Skin Care Center in Long Beach, California.

A respected dermatologist and community leader, she co-founded the Erase the Past tattoo removal program, which helped thousands of at-risk youth reenter society through service and care. The daughter of Holocaust survivors Cantor David (z”l) and Yetta Kane, Dr. Kane has carried their torch L’dor V’dor (a Hebrew phrase meaning "from generation to generation") for decades—whether at her overflowing Shabbat table or through her communal service and philanthropy.   Mr. Jerry Kaufman is a retired businessman and dedicated lay leader in the Jewish community. He served as president of the Jewish National Fund and Temple Beth Shalom in Long Beach, as well as on the boards of the Hebrew Academy and the Jewish Federation of Long Beach. He is deeply committed to philanthropy, education, and Jewish communal life. Dr. Kane and Mr. Kaufman live in Long Beach, where they enjoy spending time with their children and five grandchildren.   Photo: Courtesy of Dr. Bryna Kane and Mr. Jerry Kaufman
