Conference Travel Grants

Call for Applications

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is pleased to announce conference travel grants for scholars to attend a professional conference where they are presenting their original research on a topic on or related to the Holocaust.

This competitive grant program is part of the Broadening Academia Initiative, a larger initiative designed to support the production of scholarship on the Holocaust by scholars who are untenured, contingent, or working outside of academia. Those selected for a conference travel grant will be reimbursed for travel expenses in an amount not to exceed $1,600; reimbursed for lodging expenses in an amount not to exceed $1,100; and receive a stipend for miscellaneous expenses. Please note when booking travel that the Museum can only reimburse the most direct economy class round-trip travel. While the Museum is not a grant-making institution, we do offer funded research opportunities for Holocaust scholars.

This program is made possible by the generous support of The Marcus Foundation.

Grant recipients will have one year from the awarded grant to attend their conference and must submit materials for reimbursement afterward. Recipients are responsible for scheduling their own travel and accommodations.
